Privacy Policy

This is how HoopDay (the "Service") handles your personal information.

What we collect

• Account: email address, display name
• Profile: bio; level, how often you play and time away from basketball (each public or private)
• Use: events you host or join, chats and messages, friends, 👍, scoreboard records, courts you register (name, address, position), messages you send us
• Device: push notification token, OS, app version
• Location: used only at the moment you sort by distance or check a court on the map. Your location is never stored

Why

• To run the Service: posting, finding and joining events, and talking with other players
• To send notifications (joining, cancellations, messages, etc.)
• To prevent abuse, handle reports and inquiries, and improve the Service

Sharing

We do not share your information without consent except as required by law. These providers process it for us:

• Supabase Inc. (database and sign-in; data stored in the Tokyo region)
• Expo (push notifications)
• Apple Inc. (maps and address lookup)
• Cloudflare, Inc. (website and email forwarding)
• Resend (sending sign-up confirmation and password reset emails)

What other users see

Your display name, bio, the profile items you made public and the events you join. Event chats are visible to participants only, messages to you and the other person only, and game results to the event's participants only.

Retention and deletion

Deleting your account deletes your profile, participation and messages (posts in shared chats may remain as "deleted user"). See Delete account.
